EXPERIMENTAL APPROACHES WITH ACRYLIC
Creating Abstracts with Elements of Realism
Level: intermediate – advanced (Must have painting experience.)
Cost: $300 for a minimum of 11 participants. Fees will be decreased
proportionately with each additional registration up to a maximum of
16.
Location: Miep’s Studio (Map to follow), FT. ST. JOHN
Bring a lunch. Coffee, tea and “goodies” will be provided.
During this technique-oriented acrylic workshop, participants will be guided
through the complexities of layering and adding a variety of media
such as collage papers and texturing mediums. Completed works will
build on photo transfers from photo copies of your own photos, or your original
drawings or sketches. Photocopies of text may also be used. For the print makers in our
midst, this is an excellent opportunity to incorporate some of your
favourite prints into a mixed media piece. With plenty of one-on-one
guidance, personal development is encouraged while creating abstracts
with elements of realism into your paintings.
Whenever using photos or images to photocopy, you must use your own so that you don 't infringe upon the copyright law.
We are ordering student grade watercolour paper and a variety of other
papers (rice, tissue) for use during the workshop. However, if you
wish to order some interesting papers of your own or bring some from
home to use, that will be just fine.
A non-refundable deposit of $50 will ensure your spot on a “first
come, first served basis” and is required by April 7th. Refunds will
only be given if the workshop is cancelled.
(Please note that these popular workshops have been filling up quickly.)
